As a life long learner midwifery is the perfect career. Natalie graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in nutrition. Upon graduating she enrolled at National College of Midwifery and began apprenticing under local midwives. During her time as a student she had the opportunity to attend over 70 births and met so many amazing families. Soon after graduating, Natalie gave birth to her first baby at home in the water supported by the midwives who trained her. Shortly after, she became licensed by the California Medical Board and Cypress Midwifery was born to give birthing people more options and offer the same quality care she received. Appointments are monthly until 28 weeks, every other week from 28-36 weeks and weekly from 36 weeks to delivery. Each appointment is an hour long in the comfort of your own home. We’ll assess the well being of the pregnant person and baby, provide educational resources, and leave time for you to ask questions and connect with your midwife. Natalie specializes in natural birth out of hospital, offering home birth and water birth. Once in labor there will be direct phone communication with your midwife until active labor when the midwife will come to support you in person. After delivery she will stay with you about 3-4 hours to ensure both baby and parents are doing well. In depth postpartum care is a central principle for Cypress Midwifery. You can expect a visit on 1 day, 1 week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks.
